A Quilt Legend: According to Indian lore an old woman sat and laboriously worked on a large quilt. Upon finishing this quilt the world would come to an end. Unbeknownst to her, a dog secretly unraveled whatever she had done, thereby preventing the coming of the end. An 8-pointed Sioux star in many brilliant hues is chosen to represent the quilt which is held admiringly and gently by the old woman in her lap. Below the quilt a large dog quietly undoes the woman’s work by pulling a long blue thread in his mouth, wrapping it all around the picture. |
