Marked Twice: This Native pony is the antithesis to the extremely well-groomed, shaved, shorn, braided, haltered, multi-reined Polo horse I did last year.  Here too is evidence of human care and tending such as the paint circle around the eye to sharpen his vision, the halter, and the feathers in his hair.  Yet his coat remains naturally shaggy and the most important marking is not human-made, but nature-made, namely the white marking on his forehead ending in the shape of a left hand-sign of divine blessing.   This hand also signals the pony’s connectedness to his human counter-part.
