Land of Spirits The sun sets in the Badlands bathing rock and sand formations in brilliantly glowing hues, offset by an ever-darkening sky. Upon closer inspection the rock is alive with the spirits of those who once roamed there. Three prominent Indian chiefs - Red Cloud, American Horse and Sitting Bull – all represented by symbols giving clues to their names, imbue the land with their essence.
